RESOLUTION NO.o� i Y WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain OPTION FOR LEASE dated the 5th day of March., 1943, between the City of Newport Beach as party of the first part, and South Coast Company, as party of the second part; and WHEREAS, said Option for Lease provides that the City of Newport Beach agrees to lease to the second party at any time or on or before June 5, 1943, in case said option is extended, that it may demand on or before May 5:, 1943,/on the conditions, covenants and agreements in said Option and the specimen lease attached thereto as Exhibit "A", certain harbor frontage, tidelands and uplands abutting thereon, for industrial uses, which said real property is situated in the City of Newport Beach, Orange County, California, and more particularly described as follows. All of Lots 3, 4, 5, 60 70 8 9 and 10 in Block 117, as shown upon a map of Section "B", Newport Beach, recorded in Book 4 page 27 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange vounty, California, and a parcel of land being a portion of Lot 4, Section 33, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, S. B. B. & M., and certain filled tidelands described as follows, to —wit: Beginning at a point in the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of 18th Street, as said street Is laid out and shown upon a map of Section B, Newport Beach, recorded in Book 4, page 27 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, which point is 20 feet northerly of the northwesterly corner of Block 117, as shown on said map of Section B; run- ning thence northerly along the northerly prolongation of said easterly line of 18th Street to an intersection with the U. S. Government bulkhead line between Station 118 and Station 119, as said bulkhead line is shown upon a map entitled "Harbor Lines, Newport Bay, Newport Harbor, California ", approved May 2nd, 1936, by the Secretary of War, and on file in the office of the U. S. District Engineer of Los Angeles, California; thence easterly along said bulkhead line to an Intersection with the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 13, Block 115, as shown upon a map of Tract No. 234, recorded in Book 13, pages 36 and 37 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said County; thence southerly along the said northerly prolongation of the easterly line of said Lot 13 to an intersection with a line 20 feet northerly of and parallel with the northerly line of said Block 115; thence westerly in a direct line to the point of beginning. 1. r 0 . �8.: � 1 And WHEREAS, it is the opinion and Judgment of the 2 City Council of the City of Newport Beach that it is for the 3 best interests of the City of Newport Beach and the residents 4 thereof, and in furtherance of the war effort, that the City 5 lease said property above described to the party of the second 6 part for the purpose of assembling, constructing, reconstructing, 7 reconditioning and repairing boats, vessels, war craft, war 8 vessels, auxiliary war craft and other vessels necessary or useful 9 to the national defense; 'and 10 WHEREAS, the City Council deems that the consideration 11 for the leasing of said property is in all respects just, fair 12 and adequate. 13 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor 15 and City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby 16 directed, authorized and instructed to execution said Option for 17 Lease, in the name of and on behalf of the City of Newport Beabia, 18 and the City Clerk is directed to deliver a duly executed copy 19 thereof to the party of the second part upon payment of the 20 consideration in said Option specified. 21 22 I hereby certify that the above and foregoing 23 resolution was duly and regu]a rly passed and adopted at an 24 adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of 25 Newport Beach, held on the 5th day of March, 1943, by the following 26 �! 27 vote, to —wit: ZYES,, COUNCILMEN: C,Ilen, K rr(1 I 28 _ . 29 NOES, COUNCILMEN: I 30 ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: 31 TEST: v� 32 City Clerk k Mayor LAW OFFICES OF ROLANO THOMReON 210 SPUPOEON EILOO.
