Barrett did on or about the 26th day of May, 1943, file with the Planning Commission of the city of Newport Beach, an application for a conditional permit to construct a simple frame building of a temporary nature and design to create an acceptable appearance, said building to house a temporary office, a stock room and a mechanical shop, a permanent wooden fence of pleasing design to be erected at the property line with pedestrian and truck entrance gates; that items to be stored in the yard will include lumber, small quantities of the and iron pipe, small machinery such as pumps, trucks and tractors, on the following described property situated in the city of Newport Beach, Orange County, California, and more particularly described as follows: The Southeasterly 500 feet of Lot "A" of "Tract No. 919 ", as shown on a map recorded in Book 29, pages 31, 32, 33 and 34 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, said 500 feet being measured along the Northeasterly line of California State Highwgy, as shown on said map, the Northwesterly line thereof being parallel with the Southeasterly line of said Lot "A ". Excepting the Northeasterly 150 feet thereof. And WHEREAS, the Newport Beach Planning Commission did, as required by law, advertise public hearings on said appli- cation in accordance with the provisions of Section 11 of Ordinance No. 440 of the city of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, hearings were held pursuant to advertised notices thereof, all as provided for by said Ordinance No. 440 of the city of Newport Beach aforesaid; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the city of Newport Beach did thereafter and on the 7th day of June, 1943, recommend to the City Council of the city of Newport Beach that a conditional permit be issued to J. S. Barrett for the duration of the present war, in accordance with the application of said J. S. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the city of Newport Beach, recommending a conditional permit to the applicant, J•S. Barrett, in accordance with his application, be, and the same is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the property authority of the city of Newport Beach issued to the said J. S. Barrett, a conditional permit in accordance with his said application. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the granting of said permit as applied for, will not be a detriment or injury to the neighborhood.
