RESOLUTION NO. ISO-41)_
WHEREAS, the State of California, through its War Council
and the Department of Finance, proposes to meet one -half of the
expenses incurred by cities and counties for Civilian Defense
Control Center telephone communications; and
WREBEAS, the City of Newport Beach, California, for some
time has been paying, and is still paying, the sum of #87.17
per month for telephone service supplied its Control Center.
NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That application be
made to the California Department of Finance or other proper
department for funds to meet one -half of the telephone expense
herein mentioned, commencing as of June let, 1943, as provided
for by law.
BE IT YUATHER RESOLVED: That R. L. Patterson, City
Engineer of the City of Newport Beach, and deputy Commander of
Civilian Defense, be, and he is hereby designated as the
Authorized Representative of the city of Newport Beach, for the
purpose of making the necessary application for the refund of
the telephone expenses herein mentioned, and for.the further
purpose of having one -half of the said telephone expense met
by the proper state authorities.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council
of the city of Newport Beach at a regular meeting.thereof held on
the 2nd day of August, 1943, by the follooWi1ng vote to -Wit: ._
