RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT
NO. 3921
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WORK
DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 3911
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, having in open session on the 8th day of October, 1951
publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed proposals or bid
for the following work to be done and improvements to be made in
said City, to -wit:
The grading, paving with plant mix material, construction of
house sewer and water connections, reinforced concrete pipe storm
drains, catch basins, outlets and appurtenant work in connection
therewith in certain alleys and easements lying Northeasterly of
Coast Boulevard, between Dahlia Avenue and Poppy Avenue (Corona
Del Mar), all as more particularly described in Resolution of
Intention No. 3911, passed and adopted by the City Council of said
City on the 13th day of August, 1951 and on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention No. 3911 and to the plans, profiles and
drawings No. 434, consisting of 11 sheets, on file in the office o
the City Engineer of said City of Newport Beach, and to the speci-
fications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said City
Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City
and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications here-
tofore approved by the City Council of said City are incorporated
herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made theret,
for a more particular description of said work.
Said City Council has determined and declared that the con-
templated work and improvement heretoforementioned was, in the
opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary pu
benefit and the City Council has made the expenses of said work
chargeable upon a district. For the particular description of

said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of
Intention No. 3911.
Said Council has determined and declared that serial bonds,
bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum and
extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day
of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their
date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the
"Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Part 5, Division VII of the Stree
and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each
assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining
unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrar
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being
Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code.
Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said proposals
bids, except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards th
contract for the said work and improvement to the lowest, regular
and responsible bidder, to -wit: To Sully- Miller Contracting Co.,
at the prices named in its bid for said work, on file in the offi
of the City Clerk of said City.
The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause a
NOTICE OF AWARD OF CONTRACT to be published in the manner and fora
required by said Code, by two insertions in the "Newport Harbor
Ensign," a weekly newspaper, published and circulated in the City
of Newport Beach and hereby designated for the purpose by the said
City Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 8th
day of October, 1951, by the following vote to -wit:
