A RESOLUTION 08 I UNTION TO ARUM CBRTAIN
pROpMM TO TRB CITY Op NEWPORT BEACH AND

WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to
the City of Newport Beach, a certain uninhabited territory within
the meaning of the Annw ation of Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939, said territory being more particularly hereinafter described;
and
wgcros, conain owners of said Property have expressed
themselves as being desirous of having the same annexed with the
City of Newport Beaohj and
WHMUSt it would be for the best Laterests for the City
of Newport Beach and its citizens that said city annex said terri-
tory; and
WHMMU0 the City of Newport Beach did on or about the
\L day of March, 1956 submit to the Orange County Boundary
Commission a legal description and plat of hereinafter described
uninhabited territory for its approval pursuant to the provisions
of Seetio., 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California;

WHEIRUS, on Haroh ;-a 1956 there was filed with
the City Clerk of the City of ? Newport Beach an approval of said
Orange County Boundary Commission pursuant to the provisions of
Section 33002 of the dovernment Code of the State of Californiaj
and
NOW, THOVOR80 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of !Newport Beach that the following declarations and
notices be made and given]
IT 13 HM%EBY' DSCLAM, that proceedings have been
initiated by the City of Newport Beach to annex the said territory
hereinafter described, which said territory is contiguous to the

present boundaries of said city and which said territory now is
uninhabited within the meaning of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory act of 19391 and declare that the reasons for said
annexation are that.certain owners of said territory desire that it
be annexed to the City of Newport Beach and it would be for the
best interests of the City of Newport Beach and its citizens
that said city annex said territory.

City of Newport Beach to annex said herelfaefter described terri-
tory to said city, which said territory shall in these pfoceedings
bear the name "16th Street Annex ". The specific description of the
boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed is attached
hereto marked Zxhibit "A" and by reference made a part hereof.
PUS NOTICE IS MSREBY OIVSN that on Monday, the 14th
day of May, 1956, at the hour of Ts3O p.m. on said day, or as soon
thereafter as the scatter may be heard in the Council Chambers or
Me City hall of the City of Newport Beach, 3300 West Newport Blvd.,
Newport Beach, California, a hearing will be had at which hearing
anY person owniag any real property within the boundaries of the
territory so proposed to be annexed herein described, each may
appear and object to the proposed w,toexation and show cause why
such territory should not be so annexed,
The above and foregoing Resolution, was duly and regularly
Passed said adopted at a meeticag of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 29th day of 19arah, 19505, by the following
vote, to wits
