RESOLUTION 10. L495
WHEREAS, aAL°aa S. DYS0 has been an outstanding law enforcement
officer engaged as such in the Police Department of the City of Newport
Bench for a period of twenty -five yearn; and,
WHP,RV1$, by reason of his conduct and activities as such has
been recognized as one of the outstanding law enforcement officers in
the State of California; and,
WHEREAS, by reason of an illness, said iALM E. DYSON is
compelled to retire from all active duty, and the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach is accepting his retirement with sincere regrets;
and,
14MRSAS, at the time of the occurrence of such illness, said
WALTER E. DYSON was, and for a long time prior thereto had been serving
with the rank of Captain of said Police Department, and in recognition
and appreciation of his outstanding service, he is being retired by the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach as Assistant Chief of Police;
and,
Mgk'r6S, it Is the desire of said City Council to go on record
to further express its appreciation and the appreciation of the residents
of the City of Newort Beach for the outstanding services rendered by
said WALTER E. DYSJNj

FURHER RESOLUM, that it is the sincere wish of the City
Council and said. residents that said WALTER E. DYSON have a speady and
complete recovery.
The above and foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
Passed and adopted at a meeting of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 28th day of May. 1956, by the following vote,
