RESOLUTION NO. 50:5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION.OF
WATER MAINS BY CITY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, certain 22 -inch steel water main has been re-
placed by City employees in the Balboa Coves area of the City and
it is necessary to replace additional main the total length of
which approximates 2,500 lineal feet not heretofore approved for
replacement; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the completion of the work
be done as quickly and efficiently as possible; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the improvement exceeds the sum of
3,000; and
WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City Manage
it appears that the work in question can be performed and completed
VLore economically by the City with its own employees;
NOWs THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
declare and determine that in its opinion, based upon estimates
approved by the City Manager, the construction work consisting of
replacing approximately 2,500 feet of 22 -inch steel water main with
4 -inch transite water main may be performed more economically by th
City with its own employees.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
his authorized and directed to proceed with and complete said work
consisting of the replacement of said water main as described above.
This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm-
ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
regular meeting held on the 25th day of May, 1959, by the following
vote, to wit:

the foregoing Resolution No. 5015 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, do
the 25th day of May , 19 51 by the following
