RESOLUTION NO. 5060
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING RATES FOR TAXICABS
WHEREAS, Section 6610 of the Municipal Code provides tha
the City Council shall by resolution establish a schedule of rates
applicable to all taxicabs operating in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore issued certifi-
cates of public convenience and necessity to several taxicab
operators; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with said Section 6610 the City
Council, after notice to each of said operators, has held a
on the question of taxicab rates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby establishes the following schedule of rates:
50¢ for the first _.2L4 mile
10i for each additional one - quarter mile
5.00 per hour waiting,time
No charge for additional passengers
50¢ service charge for cancellation of taxicab after
cab is dispatched
No charge for the first 3 minutes after driver
contacts passenger
This resolution failed adoption by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 27th day of
July, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Kingsley, Somers
NOES, COUNCILMEN: Atkinson, Lorenz Hart
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Stoddard, Higbie
