HomeMy WebLinkAbout5187 - Assessment District ProceedingsWWC :m 3/10/6 (12) I RESOLUTION NO. 5187 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING AND EMPLOYING WILLIAM 3 MacKENZIE BRCWN; ATTORNEY AT LAW, TO EXAMINE PLANS AND SP.CIPICATIONS AND TO PREPARE RESOLUTIONS 4 AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY_DOCUMENTS IN THE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT PROCEEDINGS FOR -THE IMPROVEMENT OF BREAIC;RS 5 DRIVE AND_CERTAIN MHER STREETS. 6 WHEREAS, assessment district proceedings pursuant to the 7 Streets and Highways Code of the State of California are being 8 undertaken for the improvement of Breakers Drive and certain other 9 streets; and 10 WHEREAS, said proceedings are of a special and highly 11 technical nature requiring the services of an attorney who special - 12 izes in such street proceedings and is qualified to give an opinion 13 as to the validity of said proceedings when finally consummated; 14 and 15 WHEREAS, it is reasonably necessary to employ William 16 MacKenzie Brown for this purpose in order to expedite the proceed= 17 ings; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the `City Council of 19 the City of Newport Beach: 20 SECTION 1. William MacKenzie Brown, Attorney at Law, 21 650 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, be and is hereby 22 appointed and employed to examine plans and specifications and to 23 prepare all resolutions, papers and other documents necessary in 24 the assessment district proceedings for the improvement of Breakers 25 Drive and certain other streets as above stated, except the 26 preparation of the assessment and bonds. 27 SECTION 2.
