111 RESOLUTION NO, 5780
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE RECONSTRUCTION OF
3 WATER AND SEWER MAINS ON THE HARBOR ISLAND BRIDGE

BY CITY EMPLOYEES .
5 WHEREAS, in connection with the replacement of the Harbor
6 Island Bridge, it is necessary that the City relocate and replace
711 the existing water main and sewer mains on and adjacent to the
811 bridge; and
911 WHEREAS, it is necessary that the work be completed as
1011 quickly and efficiently as possible; and

WHEREAS, the cost of the improvement exceeds the sum of
4 $3,000; and
WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City Man-
ager, it appears that the work in question can be performed and
completed more economically by the City with its own employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
declare and determine that in its opinion, based upon estimates
approved by the City Manager, the work hereinabove described may
be performed more economically by the City with its own employees,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
is authorized and directed to proceed with and complete said work
consisting of the reconstruction of said water and sewer mains as
described above,
This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm-
ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
regular meeting held on the 13th day of Kay, 1963, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMM: Stoddard, Gruber, Cook,
Hart, Lorenz, Marshall, Elder
NOES, COUKLILiON : None
