1 RESOLUTION NO. Q
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE REPLACM ENT AND
3 ENLARGEMENT OF WATER MAINS IN THE ALLEY LOCATED
BETWEEN RUBY AND COLLINS AVENUES AND BETWEEN
4 NORTH AND SOUTH BAY FRONTS ON BALBOA ISLAND

6 WHEREAS, certain water mains in the alley located between
7 Ruby and Collins Avenues and between North and South Bay Fronts on
8 Balboa Island are in need of replacement and enlargement, the total
9 length of which approximates 1160 feet; and
10 WHEREAS, it is necessary that the work be completed as
11 quickly and efficiently as possible; and
12 WHEREAS, it appears that the total expenditure therefor
13 will exceed the sum of $3,000; and
14 WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City Manage
15 it appears that the work in question can be performed and completed
16 more economically by the City with its own employees;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
18 declare and determine that in its opinion, based upon estimates
19 approved by the City manager, the work consisting of replacing
20 approximately 1160 feet of 2 -inch steel water main with 6 -inch
21 asbestos cement water main may be performed more economically by
22 the City with its own employees.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
24 is authorized and directed to proceed with and complete.said work
25 consisting of the replacement of said water main as described above

This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm-
27 ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
28 regular meeting held on the 28th day of January, 1963, by the
29 following vote., to wit:
