I MS, the owner of property in the County of Oranve

lying adjacent to the Caty of Newport Beach northerly of Pacific

Coss-- Highway, easterly of the Santa Ana Raver, southerly of the
8
extension of 19th Street and southwesterly of tiie City of Costa
9
R_esa, is planning a major residential and marina development in
10
said area; and

IffUMS , the County's Haste. Pla:a of A=teraal 1- :__gaways

is being amended to provide adequate traffic facilities to serve
13
this developing area; and

T,,—M? AS, amendments to the City's master Plan are being

adopted to'shmy a road system through the area; and

MMERPAS, one of the most important highway facilities to

provide access into and through this area is a 100 foot elide prima:

GTOMMS, it will be necessary to connect the aforesaid

primary highe3ay to Pacific Coast Highway at a point approximately

1000 feet nortNiest of Superior Swenue; and

GjimREAS, Pacific Coast Highway has been declared a €ree-

way in this area and approval of the California Highway Co=issi_on
24
is required to effect the connection;

JJOW2 TiMEF0,M2 BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of

the City of Newport Beach requests the California Highway Commis-
lion to approve a connection of the aforesaid primary highway to
28
Pacific Coast Highway at a point approximately 1000 feet northwest
29 of the intersection of Superior Avenue.
