RESOLUTION NO. 5771
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE
COSTS OF PROCESSING A PROPOSED INHABITED ANNEXATION
TO COASTAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Lido Sands area of the City is not now within
the Coastal Municipal Water District or the Metropolitan Water
District of Southern California; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that said area be annexed to
said Districts in order to assure an uninterrupted supply of water
to the residents of said area; and
WHEREAS, the cost of processing an inhabited annexation
to said Districts is estimated to be $3,800; and
WHEREAS, it is of primary interest to the residents of
said area and is also of general interest to the City and to the
citizens.of the City that said annexation be processed;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the City
Council that the City deposit the amount of $3,800 with Coastal
Municipal Water District to pay the cost of processing an inhabited
annexation of the Lido Sands area of the City to Coastal Municipal
Water District and Metropolitan Water District of Southern Califor-
nia; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall impose an ad-
ditional charge for water service'on each water meter within said
area of the City until the net cost.of said annexation to the City
plus interest at the rate of three per cent (3 %) is returned to
the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the deposit of said amount
of $3,800 is conditioned upon this resolution being submitted to
the Board of Directors of the Lido Sands Community Association and
the terms thereof being approved by the membership of said associa-
tion at its annual meeting being held in April, 1963.
