5 L^ S, a written contract has been preparee entitled
6 'BAs NT 1Y147211, in wITIch the City and the State of California
7 are parties, ?roviding for the installation of a traffic control
8 signal system and highway lighting at the intersection of Finley
9 Avenue with New?ort Boulevard, modification of the existing traffic'
10 control signal system and highway lighting at the intersections of
11 Via Lido with Newport Boulevard, and construction of roadwork on
12 Newiport Boulevard from Finley Avenue to Bridge No. 55 -35; and
13 MIMMS, the contract ?rovides that the City and State
14 would share the cost of said signal system and h4ghwany livhtigng
15 installations, moeiiication and maintenance and said roadwork COM-
16 struction as set forth therein; and
17 F7IMMEAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms of
18 said contract and determined it to be in the interests or the C_ty �
19 and the improvements to be necessary;
