RESOLUTION N0. 5874
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING CERTAIN WORK ON STREET
LIGHT STANDARDS BY CITY EKPLOYEES
WHEREAS, certain street light standards in the area of
the City bounded by A Street, Ocean Front, Palm Street, and Newport
Bay are in need of replacement or removal; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the work be completed as
quickly and efficiently as possible; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the total expenditure therefor
will exceed the sum of $3,000; and
WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City Mana-
ger, it appears that the work in question can be performed and
completed more economically by the City with its own employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
declare and determine that in its opinion, based upon estimates
approved by the City Manager, the work consisting of the replacement
of 11 existing street light standards, the installation of 2
luminaires on existing light standards, and the removal of 4 exist-
20 ing street light standards may be performed more economically by
21 the City with its own employees.
22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
23 is authorized and directed to proceed with and complete said work
24 consisting of the replacement and removal of said street light
25 standards and installation of said luminaires on existing light
26 standards as described above.
27 This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm
28 ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
29 regular meeting held on the 23rd day of September, 1963, by the
30 following vote, to wit:
31 AYES, COUNCILMEN: Stoddard, Gruber, Cook,
Hart, Lorenz; Marshall, Elder
