A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
2 OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A CONTRACT

4I WHEREAS, in connection with the subdivision and improve-
s ment of certain land in the vicinity of Eastbluff Drive and Back
6 Bay Drive in the City owned by The Irvine Company and leased to
7 Eastbluff-Newport, Inc., and ,jamboree Land Co., it appears to be
8 mutually beneficial to the City and said parties and in the public
9 interest to realign Back Bay Drive in the vicinity of its inter -
10 section with Jamboree Road; and
11 AREAS, the subdividers propose to construct a new
12 street to be named .Eastbluff Drive which will connect with Back
13 Bay Drive, and they have offered to dedicate to the City and
14 improve said Eastbluff Drive and the northerly extension of Back
15 Bay Drive, which will cause a certain portion of Back Bay Drive
16 in the vicinity of its intersection with ,jamboree Road to be no
17 longer required for street and highway purposes; and
18 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council a
19 contract between the City and the aforesaid parties providing for
20 the dedication and improvement of said Eastbluff Drive and the
21 northerly extension of Back Bay Drive and the initiation of pro -
22 ceedings to abandon the existing easement for street and highway
23 purposes over the portion of Back Bay Drive no longer required; an,
24 WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms of said
25 contract and found them to be fair and equitable and to the mutual j
26 advantage of the parties;
27 NCW3 TYWREFCRE, BE IT RESOLVED that said contract is her
28 by approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
29 directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beacl
