RESOLUTION NO.; 6030
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A SPEED ZONE AND A
SKI ZONE IN NEWPORT HARBOR AND DESIGNATING THE
HOURS,DURING WHICH SUCH USES ARE PERMITTED
WHEREAS, Section 10600 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code designates a portion of Newport Harbor as a Special -Use Area
and provides that only those uses which are set forth by resolution
of the City Council shall be permitted in said area at designated
times and only in the zones specified;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1, The following described area of the Special -Use
Area designated in Section 10600 of said Code is hereby declared
to be a speed zone-
That portion of Upper Newport Bay bounded by the
following lines- Northerly of a line which bears
East from Station 110 of the aforesaid Line of
Ordinary High Tide;. Westerly of a line.between
Station 33 and Station 40 of the aforesaid Line
of Ordinary High Tide; Southerly of a line
which bears West from Station 42 of the afore-
said Line of Ordinary High Tide.
2. The following described area of the Special-Use
Area designated in Section 10600 of said Code is hereby declared
to be a ski zone-
That portion of Upper Newport Bay . bounded by the
following lines: Northerly of a line between
Station 49 and Station 81 of the Line of Ordinary
High Tide as established in Orange County Superior
Court Case No, 20436 May 1926; Westerly of a line
between Station 66 and Station 87, of the afore-
said Line of Ordinary High Tide; Southerly of a
line between Station 53 and Station 76, of the
aforesaid Line of Ordinary High Tide; Easterly
of a line between Station 69 and Station 97 of
the aforesaid Line of Ordinary High Tide.
3. Between 9 A. M. and sunset, the maximum speed limit
at which a motorboat may be operated in said speed zone or in said
ski zone shall be thirty -five (35) miles per hour. At all other
times the maximum speed limit at which a motorboat may be operated
in said speed zone or in said ski zone shall be five (5) nautical
miles per hour.
