HomeMy WebLinkAbout6031 - No Parking AreaTHS flmec _ 9/2 /64 (12) i RESOLUTION NO. 6031 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A NO.PARKING AREA 41 WHEREAS, Section 3272 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code` 5 provides that the City Council may by resolution establish no 6 parking areas and, when appropriate signs or markings are in place, 7 no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in the no parking 8I area so established; and 9i WHEREAS, Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code provides that 10 local authorities may by resolution prohibit the parking of vehicle 11 on a state highway if such resolution is first submitted to and 12 approved by the Department of Public Works; and 13 WHEREAS, the northerly side of Pacific Coast Highway from 14 a point 40 feet easterly of the center line of Riverside Avenue to 15 a point 150 feet easterly of said center line of Riverside Avenue i 16 an area where parking should be prohibited in order to facilitate 17 the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the northerly side of 19 Pacific Coast Highway from a point 40 feet easterly of the center 20 line of Riverside Avenue to a point 150 feet easterly of said cente 21 line of Riverside Avenue is hereby designated as a no parking area. 22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said prohibition on parking 23 is subject to the approval in writing of the Department of Public 24 Works of the State of California and that upon receiving such writ - 25 ten approval the city traffic engineer is authorized and directed 26 to appropriately sign and mark said area to indicate that parking 27 is prohibited as provided in Section 3272 of the Newport Beach 281 Municipal Code. 29 ADOPTED this 28th day of September, 1964, 30 31 ATTES-T -_ Mayor 32 City C r - STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH) I, MARGERY SCHROUDER, City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records of the City of Newport Beach filed and maintained in my office, the foregoing Resolution No. 6091 was duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 28th day of September , 19 64 by the following vote, to wit: AYES, COUNCILMEN: Stoddard, Forgit, Cook, Gruber, Elder, Marshall, Parsons NOES, COUNCILMEN: ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: done Dated this 29th day of September , 19 64 I urL ��I'� C4ty ClerjE and Ex- Officio (E1d-Yk of the City Council, City of Newport Beach, State of California.
