A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY_ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE COMMUNITY SHELTER
PLAN PREPARED BY THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the Office of Emergency Services of the State
of California has prepared a Community Shelter Plan for the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, in connection with that plan the Office of
Emergency Services intends to distribute to the residents of the
City of Newport Beach a Community Emergency Plan which will contain
emergency information relative to earthquakes, fire, floods, air
pollution and nuclear attack; and
WHEREAS, before the Community Emergency Plan may be
printed and distributed the Community Shelter Plan must be approved
by the legislative body of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Community Shelter Plan is consistent with
the needs of the.citizens of the City of Newport Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does approve the Community Shelter Plan
prepared by the Office of Emergency Services of the State of
California; a copy of that plan is on file in the Office of the
City Clerk;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to
transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Office of
Emergency Services of the State of California.
ADOPTED this 12th day of June, 1972.
