RESOLUTION NO. 8224
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS FOR A GRANT FROM THE
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION FUND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
BICYCLE TRAILS
WHEREAS, the Local Transportation Fund allocation for
the fiscal year 1974 -75 for Orange County is $14,200,730; and
WHEREAS, through Senate Bill 821, $284,015 is
available for cities for bikeways and pedestrian facilities;
and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of
Governments has been designated as the delegating agency for
these funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is authorized to
receive $9,884, based on current population figures; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is desirous of
continuing the implementation of an adopted bikeway plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does authorize the City Manager to
apply to the Southern California Association of Governments for
said funds for which the City of Newport Beach is eligible;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager submit
to the Southern California Association of Governments a copy of
the adopted Master Plan of Bikeways for Newport Beach and the
segments that are proposed for implementation during 1974 -75.
ADOPTED this 25th day of March, 1974.
