A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A
QUITCLAIM DEED TO THE IRVINE COMPANY, RELEASING
THE CITY'S INTEREST IN A PORTION OF A WATER
LINE EASEMENT IN BLOCK 100, NEWPORT CENTER
WHEREAS, a portion of a water line easement previously
dedicated by The Irvine Company and located in Block 100, Newport
Center, is no longer required because a 12 -inch water line was
installed along a slightly different alignment by reason of
adjacent construction at that location, and the appropriate new
easement has been dedicated by The Irvine Company; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City has no
present or prospective need for that portion of the water line
easement formerly granted to the City, legally described as:
That portion of Parcel 3 of that certain easement to
the City of Newport Beach from The Irvine Company recorded
January 26, 1973 in Book 10531, page 472 of Official Records
of Orange County, State of California, described as follows:
A strip of land, 10.00 feet in width, in Parcel "A"
as per map filed in Book 52, page 37 of Parcel Maps,
records of said County, the center line of said strip being
described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly terminus of that certain
center line course described as "South 630 59' 27" East
61.55 feet" in said Parcel 3 of the easement to the City of
Newport Beach, said course being also shown on said parcel
map; thence South 260 00' 33" West 62.37 feet along said
center line to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing
along said center line the following courses and distances:
South 26 000133" West 17.68 feet, South 630 59' 27" East
131.37 feet; North 860 50' 58" East 41.28 feet to the
Easterly terminus of said center line.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute a
quitclaim deed releasing to The Irvine Company the City's interest
in the above described portion of the water line easement.
ADOPTED this 26th day of August, 1974.
