RESOLUTION NO. 8353
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING FUNDS UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF THE COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND
TRAINING ACT OF 1973
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has the opportunity
of acquiring funds under the provisions of the Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act of 1973 for the purpose of providing
jobs to unemployed or underemployed persons residing in Census
Tracts 635 (West Newport area). and 628 (Balboa Peninsula area);
and
WHEREAS, prior to obtaining these funds it is necessary
for the City Council to adopt a resolution authorizing the filing
of an application for such funds and authorizing an individual
to act as the City's official representative to act in connection
with the application and to provide such additional information
as may be required; "and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to file an application
for such funds and further desires to authorize the City Manager
to act as the City's official representative in connection with
said application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the.City of Newport Beach that the City Manager is authorized to
file an application for funds under the provisions of the Compre-
hensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 and is further authorized
to act as the City's official representative in connection with
the application.
