RESOLUTION NO. 8372
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH EXPRESSING THE DESIRE OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH TO PARTICIPATE THROUGH
THE STATE IN THE HUD "701" FUNDS FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1975 -76
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and
Urban Development has instituted a voluntary program of State
administration of HUD "701" (Comprehensive Planning and Management
Grant Assistance) funds to cities over 50,000 population; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, through the Office
of Planning and Research (OPR) has provided the opportunity for
the City of Newport Beach to enter into a mutual agreement whereby
OPR would administer future HUD "701" funds, beginning with the
1975 -76 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing the material concerning this
most worthwhile program, the City Council has concluded that on
balance it can support State administration of the "701" funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that beginning with the 1975 -76 fiscal
year, the City desires and does hereby agree to the State of
California administering its future HUD "701" grant funds through
the Office of Planning and Research.
ADOPTED this 15th day of October , 1974.
