RESOLUTION NO. 8389
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING ONE -WAY
TRAFFIC (NORTHBOUND ON ALLEY BETWEEN NEWPORT
BOULEVARD AND CLUBHOUSE AVENUE AND EXTENDING
160 FEET NORTH OF 32ND STREET TO FINLEY AVENUE),
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 7159
WHEREAS, Section 12.52.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this
City designates any one -way street or alley,the City Traffic
Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof,
and Section 12.52.020 of the Municipal Code provides that when
signs are erected on any one -way street or alley giving notice
thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle in a
direction contrary thereto; and
WHEREAS, the alley hereinafter described is an alley
which should be designated as a one -way alley in order to
facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards;
NOW, THEREFORE, BENT RESOLVED that the alley located
northbound between Newport Boulevard and Clubhouse Avenue and
extending 160 feet north of 32nd Street to Finley Avenue is
designated as a one -way alley for northbound traffic only.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said
alley to indicate the above designation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 7159 is
rescinded.
ADOPTED this 25th day of November 1974.
