HomeMy WebLinkAbout8481 - City Hall Easement Grantis RESOLUTION NO. 8481 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT OF EASEMENT TO THE SOUTHERN CALI- FORNIA EDISON COMPANY OVER A PORTION OF THE SITE OCCUPIED BY THE CITY HALL WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is presently pro- posing a 6 -foot wide easement which will provide underground elec- trical service from an existing manhole in 32nd Street to an under- ground transformer vault on the City Hall site, and WHEREAS, an easement is required because the existing primary electrical service passes beneath the site of the new Council Chamber and must be relocated in order to clear the new building, and WHEREAS, there is no easement for the existing service because an easement was not required when the City Hall was built. Easements are now required for primary electrical facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the City Manager is authorized to accept easements on behalf of the City as described in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and which by this reference is incorporated herein as if fully set forth; said easement shall be for the purpose of providing electrical power to the new Council Chambers and granting of said easement by the City requires the approval of the City Council.
