RESOLUTION NO. 8738
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH CHANGING THE STREET NAME "NEW
MACARTHUR BOULEVARD" TO "SAN MIGUEL DRIVE"
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Newport Beach has recommended to the City Council the changing
of the name of a portion of a certain street in the City of
Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Section 34091.1 of the Government Code of
the State of California authorizes the legislative body to
change the name of any city street by adoption of a resolution;
and
WHEREAS, after consideration of said recommendation
it appears that it would be in the interests of the City and
convenient to the public to change the name of "New MacArthur
Boulevard" to "San Miguel Drive ", as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the name of "New MacArthur
Boulevard" within the City of Newport Beach, between Ford Road
and MacArthur Boulevard, as shown on the drawing designated
"NEWPORT BEACH CIRCULATION ELEMENT" dated March 24, 1975, a
copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A ", and by
this reference is incorporated herein and made a part hereof,
be changed to "San Miguel Drive ".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed
to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of
Supervisors of Orange County, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 34092 of the Government Code.
