A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE STANDARD SPECIAL
PROVISIONSFOR USE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC
• WORKS PROJECTS WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, on August 9, 1976, the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach adopted the "Standard Specifications
for Public Works Construction" as written and promulgated by
the Southern California Chapters of the American Public Works
Association and the Associated General Contractors of America,
1976 Edition; and
WHEREAS, a new publication entitled "Work Area Traffic
Control Handbook ", 1976 Edition, promulgated by the American
Public Works Association, the institute of Transportation
Engineers, and the Municipal Traffic and Transportation Engineers
Association has been published; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has submitted the
above - described Work Area Traffic Control Handbook as a proposed
amendment to the Standard Special Provisions, for use by all
contractors working for the City; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of the City
of Newport Beach to have said proposed amendment to the Standard
Special Provisions approved and adopted by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that said amendment to the Standard
Specifications for Public Works Construction is hereby adopted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that three copies thereof shall
be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk for use and
examination by the public.
