HomeMy WebLinkAbout9255 - Hoag Hospital - Intensive Care Bedsi RESOLUTION NO. 9255 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION OF HOAG HOSPITAL TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF INTENSIVE CARE BEDS WHEREAS, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is recognized as a major referral hospital with a distinguished record of service to the citizens of Newport Beach and surrounding areas; and WHEREAS, the current utilization of the hospital's Intensive Care Unit has reached a level where the care of critically ill patients must at times be delayed or be administered in a temporary holding unit; and WHEREAS, projected growth in area population will compound the already difficult circumstances under which emergency medical care is provided; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby wishes to go on record in support of the application of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian to the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development for permission to expand its existing complement of thirteen critical care beds to twenty beds.
