A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING EMPLOYEE GROUP
DISABILITY INCOME INSURANCE WITH THE STANDARD
INSURANCE COMPANY
WHEREAS, on May 15, 1970, the long -term Group
Disability Income Insurance Plan with the Standard Insurance
Company was approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Standard
Insurance Company Group Disability Income Insurance Plan and
wishes to renew said policy on an ongoing basis,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach finds and determines that it
would be in the best interest of the City of Newport Beach to
continue to contract with the Standard Insurance Company to
provide employee group disability income insurance benefits
for City employees.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is
authorized to renew said insurance plan for subsequent fiscal
years so long as the cost for said insurance is within the
amount budgeted and approved for that fiscal year.
