A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING OF ORANGE COUNTY
• ART ALLIANCES PLANNING PROCESS FOR THE DEVELOP-
MENT OF AN ORANGE COUNTY CULTURAL PLAN
•
WHEREAS, the Orange County Art Alliance is in
the process of developing a long -range comprehensive plan
for cultural growth within Orange County; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach agrees with
the goal of improving the quality of life of all of our
citizens, by increasing cultural awareness and activities
so that cultural growth becomes a natural part of every-
day activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach recognizes
the benefits of County -wide coordination and cooperation
in cultural planning; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is satisfied
with the fair and dispersed participation and representation
of artists, art organizations and local constituents in the
process of developing and documenting the needs, goals and
objectives for cultural growth within Orange County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the City Council approves
of the Orange County Art Alliances planning process for the
development of an Orange County Cultural Plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this Resolution
to the Orange County Art Alliance.
