HomeMy WebLinkAbout9981 - City Council Ad Hoc Airport CommitteeRESOLUTION NO. 9981 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CREATING A CITY COUNCIL AD HOC AIRPORT COMMITTEE WHEREAS, John Wayne Airport imposes significant impacts upon the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, at the present time an EIS prepared by the CAB is scheduled for public hearing on February 9, 1981, the Master Plan, ANCLUC and EIR on John Wayne Airport is scheduled for hearing on February 18, 1981, the hearing in the Noise Variance from the State of California Noise Standards is scheduled for February 23, 1981, and the Airline Access Plan is scheduled for hearing early April, 1981; and WHEREAS, due to the extreme concentration of airport activities occurring almost simultaneously, it is imperative to appoint a City Council Ad Hoc Committee to oversee, coordinate, review and advise on airport activities, both to City staff and ultimately to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council should review the necessity of the Ad Hoc City Council Airport Committee during the October, 1981 review of Council Policies and Council Committees; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the City Council Ad Hoc Airport Committee is hereby created. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the functions and duties of the committee shall be as follows: 1. The Committee shall consist of three members, appointed by the Mayor. 2. The Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the City Council and oversee, coordinate and review airport matters and activities, advise staff and report to the City Council regarding same. 3. The existence of the Committee shall be reviewed in the October, 1981 review of City Council Committees by the City Council. ADOPTED this 9th day of February, 1981. ATTEST: 4% l City Clerk Aayo -2-
