•A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF
RATES FOR TAXICABS AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO. 9626.
WHEREAS, Section 5.12.100 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that the City Council shall, by Resolution,
establish a schedule of rates applicable to all taxicabs
operating in the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 9626 has heretofore been adopted
establishing said rates; and
WHEREAS, a request for a change in the rates has been made
by the taxicab operators holding a Certificate of Public
Convenience and Necessity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing and
considered said application and finds that the following rates
are reasonable and necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL17ED that the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach hereby establishes the following schedule
of rates:
1. $1.40 for the first 1 /61th mile;
2. $0.20 for each additional 1 /6th mile;
3. $12.00 per hour for waiting time and traffic delay;
4. $1.20 service charge for cancellation after taxicab has
been dispatched pursuant to service request;
5. No charge for additional passengers (i.e. five can ride
for the price of one);
6. No charge for three minutes' waiting time period when
• picking up passengers.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 9626 be and
hereby is rescinded.
