RESOLUTION NO. 10,027
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE AD HOC CITY
COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON THEATRE POLICY
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that
there should be undertaken a study to investigate, with all
interested parties, the following issues:
1. Is there a continuing need for community
theatre in Newport Beach;
2. What should the policies for community theatre
in Newport Beach be;
3. What City effort should be undertaken to
strengthen and expand community involvement
potential;
4. Is the existing community theatre site the
best place for community theatre from a land
use standpoint;
5. What should be done to answer the physical
issues of bluff face and soil stability;
6. What are the funding potentials; and
7. Should mixed uses be incorporated into the
theatre arts center; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Resolution is to establish
the Ad Hoc City Council Committee on Theatre Policy to
investigate said issues and report back to the City Council
• within 60 days;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT :RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the duties and responsibilities of
the Ad Hoc City Council Committee on Theatre Policy shall be as
follows:
1. The Committee shall consist of two members,
appointed by the Mayor.
2. The Committee shall report back to the City Council
on or before June 22, 1981 regarding the above issues relating to
theatre policy.
3. The Committee shall sunset July 1, 1981, unless
extended by Resolution of the City Council.
