RESOLUTION NO. 10,038
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER INCORPORATION OF THE RECENTLY ANNEXED
COUNTY TRIANGLE AREA INTO THE TELEPROMPTER
FRANCHISE AREA
WHEREAS, Section 5.44.173 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that in the event any new territority shall become
annexed to the City, the City Council shall determine which
grantee or grantees shall serve such new territory; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has recently completed
annexation procedures on the County triangle area, a legal
description of said area is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A"
and incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, no grantee or grantees serve the County triangle
area with community antenna television (CATV) , and
WHEREAS, Section 1301 of the Charter of the City of Newport
Beach provides that the City Council shall pass a Resolution
declaring its intention to grant a franchise or franchise area to
any franchisee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that the City Council will consider
incorporating the County triangle area into the Teleprompter
Franchise Area at a public hearing to be held on May 26, 1981 in
the City Council chamber, 3300 Newport Blvd., Newport Beach,
California, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., or as /soon thereafter as
the matter may be heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to give notice of said hearing in the
manner as prescribed by law.

To The
City of Newport Beach
All of Lots 715, through 717, 815 through 819, 915 through
919, 1015 through 1017 and a portion of Monrovia Avenue,
Placentia Avenue and Newport Avenue and all of 15th Street as
shown on the "First Addition to Newport Mesa Tract" recorded
in Book 8, Page 61 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the
County Recorder in the County of Orange, State of California,
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary line
of the City of Newport Beach as created by "Annexation No. 54"
and the "Superior Avenue Annexation" said point being the most
westerly southwest corner of said "Superior Avenue Annexation ";
thence along said existing boundary line per said "Superior
Avenue Annexation" per the "First Addition to Superior Avenue
Annexation" per the "Annexation No. 58" per the "Superior
Avenue - Hospital Road Annexation N6.79" per the "Superior
Avenue - Hospital Road Annexation No. 74" and per "Annexation
No. 54" in a general Easterly, Southwesterly, and Northwesterly
direction to the point of beginning.
The above described parcel of land contains 63.6 acres, more
or less.
