A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR BICYCLE AND /OR PEDESTRIAN
FUNDS AUTHORIZED UNDER SB -821 AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR THE FUNDS AND TO ACT AS
THE CITY'S CONTACT PERSON
WHEREAS, SB -821 provides that two percent (2 %) of each
County's total Local Transportation Fund be set aside annually
and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a bikeway and
pedestrian system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to construct
the bikeway and pedestrian system improvements within the City of
Newport Beach utilizing the funding available under SB -821,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. To apply for all funds available to the City of
Newport Beach allocated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities;
2. To authorize the City Manager or his designated
representative as the City's authorized signatory and designated
contact person.
