A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A SEPARATE
CUSTOM INSTALLATION RATE FOR LINDA ISLE FOR
CABLE ANTENNA TELEVISION SERVICE
WHEREAS, on November 9, 1970, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 7303 which
established the rate schedule for Community Antenna Television
Service, including custom installations, which could be charged
by Newport Beach Community Cablevision, Inc., the predecessor in
interest to Teleprompter; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution prescribes the maximum custom
installation rate; and
WHEREAS, the Linda Isle Community Association has
requested that cable television antenna services be provided to
Linda Isle; and
WHEREAS, Teleprompter has determined that the cost of
basic installation of underground conduit and distribution
equipment is in excess of the basic installation rates set by
Resolution No. 7303 and requested of the City Council that the
installation rate for Linda Isle be increased to $150.00 per
single - family residential dwelling unit, due to extraordinarily
difficult installation problems on Linda Isle; and
WHEREAS, Section 5.44.035 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that prior to authorizing any change for
rates or charges by a holder of a community antenna television
franchise, the City Council shall first adopt a Resolution of
• Intention to do so, and fix a time for a public hearing for
consideration of said matter.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach:
1. That a public hearing to consider the request of
Teleprompter for an increase in the rates charged for custom
• installation services on Linda Isle shall be set for the 14th day
of September, 1981, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., in. the Council
Chambers located at City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd., Newport Beach,
California.
2. The City Clerk is: directed to publish this
Resolution of Intention at least once within 15 days following
its adoption, and mail a copy of said Resolution to each holder
of a community antenna television franchise within the City of
Newport Beach.
