• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY ARTS
COMMISSION TO ACCEPT A $21100.00 GRANT FROM
THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL FOR PERFORMANCE BY
THE MARK TAPER FORUM IMPROVISATIONAL THEATRE
AT ORANGE COAST COLLEGE ON MAY 29, 1982
WHEREAS, as the first step towards providing quality
arts programs to the residents of: Newport Beach, the Newport
Beach Arts Commission has applied for and received approval from
the California Arts Council to receive matching funds of
$2,100.00, in the form of a grant; and
WHEREAS, said funds area to be used to secure a
performance by the Mark Taper Forum Improvisational Theatre group
to perform at Orange Coast College in May, 1982; and
WHEREAS, in order to recover said matching funds
provided by the City, tickets will be sold to the public, with
the Parks, Beaches & Recreation Department of the City
coordinating said sale and recording all revenue with the Finance
Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the City Arts Commission be and
hereby is authorized to accept a $2,100.00 grant from the
California Arts Council, for the performance by the Mark Taper
Forum Improvisational Theatre group at Orange Coast College in
May, 1982; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach agrees to provide the Arts Commission with
• matching funds, in the amount of $2,100.00, which funds shall be
reimbursed to the City by way of ticket sales after the scheduled
event.
