A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH DELETING ] ?ROM THE CITY
COUNCIL'S POLICY MANUAL THE AIRPORT LAND USE
COMMISSION FOR ORANGE COUNTY FROM THE JOINT
GOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEES AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTIONS NO. 6865 AND 7:247 WHICH REFER
THERETO
WHEREAS, pursuant to Council Policy A -9 which provides,
among other things, for a review of the various Boards,
Commissions and Committees' manual for any required additions,
changes or deletions; and
WHEREAS, said Committees' Manual has, as one of the
general categories, 114) Joint Governmental Committees "; and
WHEREAS, under the Joint Governmental Committees
section, the "Airport Land Use Commission for Orange County" was
established; and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 1968, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 6865 which requested
the Board of Supervisors of Orange County to appoint an Airport
Land Use Commission; and
WHEREAS, on July 27, 1970, in connection with the
Airport Land Use Commission, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 7247 which requested an
opinion from the Attorney General's office on the duties of the
Board of Supervisors to appoint an Airport Land Use Commission;
and
WHEREAS, The City Council and the City Manager of the
City of Newport Beach have conducted a review of the various
Boards, Commissions and Committees and items related thereto for
each of these committees and have determined, among other things,
that such Joint Governmental Commit.tes are generally established
by resolution or governing board action of boards other than the
City Council of the City of Newport. Beach and, therefore, the

Airport Land Use Commission for Orange County should be removed
from Section 4 of the Joint Governmental Committees portion of
the City Council Policy Manual.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Airport Land Use Commission
for Orange County shall be removed from the Joint Governmental
Committee section of the City Council's Policy Manual; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolutions Nos. 6865 and
7247 relating thereto be and they hereby are rescinded.
