HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-35 - Annexation of West Santa Ana Heights & Emerson TractRESOLUTION NO. 2003- 35 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL PLAN RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF WEST SANTA ANA HEIGHTS AND THE EMERSON TRACT (GPI 2003 -004 AND GPI 2003 -0051 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach has begun a process that could result in the annexation of the territory known as West Santa Ana Heights and the Emerson Tract. WHEREAS, an amendment to the General Plan is necessary to establish land use and development policies and regulations for the West Santa Ana Heights area and the Emerson Tract. WHEREAS, City Council Policy K -1 establishes that amendments to the General Plan shall be initiated by the City Council after recommendation from the Planning Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to initiate an amendment to the General Plan. This resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on July 22, 2003, by the following vote, to wit: AYES, COUNCIL MEMBERS Heffernan, Adams, Webb, Nichols, Mayor Bromberg NOES, COUNCIL MEMBERS None ABSENT COUNCIL MEMBERS proctor, Ridgeway ATTEST: CITY CLERK STATE OF CALIFORNIA } COUNTY OF ORANGE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH I, LaVonne M. Harkless, City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council is seven; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 2003 -35 was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 22nd day of July, 2003, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit: Ayes: Heffernan, Adams, Webb, Nichols, Mayor Bromberg Noes: None Absent: Ridgeway, Proctor Abstain: None IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the official seal of said City this 23rd day of July, 2003.
