A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO TITLE 20 OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE SPECIFYING A
MAXIMUM HEIGHT LIMIT SPECIFIC TO DESIGNATED "LANDMARK
BUILDINGS" (PA 2003 -212)
WHEREAS, the Landmark Building Ordinance established provisions for the designation of
certain types of buildings as "Landmark Building" and allows for changes to the operational characteristics
of a non - conforming use in such; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to Title 20 of the Municipal Code is required to specify a maximum
height limitation specific to Landmark Buildings; and
WHEREAS, City Council Policy K -1 establishes that amendments to the Municipal Code may be
initiated directly by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby
initiates a Code Amendment to Title 20 of the Municipal Code to specify a maximum height limitation
specific to designated Landmark Buildings.
This resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
held on October 28, 2003, by the following vote, to wit:

resolution, being Resolution No. 2003 -54 was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by
the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
28th day of October, 2003, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
