A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO TITLE
20 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO REGULATION OF GROUP RECOVERY
FACILITIES
WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to
adopt a resolution initiating amendments to the Zoning Code of the City of Newport Beach;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to conduct a review of, and consider possible
amendments to, provisions of Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code pertaining to
recovery facilities in residential districts;
WHEREAS, the City Council also desires to consider possible amendments to provisions
of Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code pertaining to the retention of non-
conforming density or intensity in conjunction with the redevelopment of multi - parcel
commercial districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
RESOLVES to initiate a review of, and possible amendment(s) to, the provisions of Title 20
ofthe Newport Beach Municipal Code pertaining to recovery facilities in residential districts
and the retention of non - conforming density or intensity in conjunction with the
redevelopment of multi - parcel commercial districts.
Adopted this 12'" day of November, 2003.
