A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
RELATING TO THE COASTALIBAY WATER QUALITY
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a Coastal /Bay Water Quality Citizens
Advisory Committee (C /BWQCAC) that was established in 1986; and
WHEREAS, C /BWQCAC has addressed issues of importance to water quality since
that time, including:
• Pumpout stations in Newport Harbor;
• Upper and Lower Newport Bay Dredging;
• Ocean and Bay water quality testing efforts;
• NPDES;
• Fats, Oils, and Grease Control;
• Educational programs;
• Habitat improvements in coastal watersheds
• The Federal Clean Water Act; and
• Prohibitions against the feeding of migratory waterfowl; and
WHEREAS, the membership of C /BWQCAC includes two members of the Newport
Beach City Council and seven Newport Beach residents, each appointed by a member
of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires that an additional Council member be named to
the Committee to improve the Council's knowledge of water quality and habitat
protection issues; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the Council
hereby expands the Coastal /Bay Water Quality Citizens Advisory Committee's
membership to include three members of the City Council and seven members of the
public.

I, Leilani I. Brown, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council is seven; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 2003 -63 was -duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by
the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
25th day of November, 2003, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to
wit:
Ayes: Heffernan, Rosansky, Adams, Webb, Nichols, Mayor Bromberg
Noes: None
Absent: Ridgeway
Abstain: None
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the
