A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE NEWPORT PLACE
PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT REGULATIONS SO AS TO
ESTABLISH A SPECIFIC LIMIT ON HOTEL ROOMS
FOR HOTEL SITES lA AND 1B, AND THE
• ACCEPTANCE OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENT
(PLANNING COMMISSION AMENDMENT NO. 607)
WHEREAS, Section 20.51.045 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
provides that final amendments to a Planned Community Development Plan must be
approved by a Resolution of the City Council, setting forth full particulars of
the amendment; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on May
24, 1984, at which time it considered a certain amendment to the Planned
Community District Regulations for the Newport Place Planned Community so as to
establish a specific hotel room limit on hotel rooms for Hotel Sites 1A and 1B;
and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing the Planning Commission adopted a
Resolution recommending to the City Council that a certain amendment to the
Planned Community District Regulations for the Newport Place Planned Community
Development, as set forth in the Planning Commission minutes of the May 24,
1984 meeting, be adopted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that said amendment to
the Planned Community District Regulations for the Newport Place Planned
Community, as set forth in the Planning Commission minutes of the May 24, 1984
meeting, is desirable and necessary; and
• WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has conducted a public hearing on
the proposed amendment in accordance with all provisions of the law; and
WHEREAS, an Initial Study and Negative Declaration have been prepared
in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, and that their
contents have been considered in the decisions on this project;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach hereby approves the proposed amendment to the Planned Community
District Regulations for the Newport Place Planned Community Development, and
accepts the environmental document, as reflected in the Planning Commission
minutes of the May 24, 1984 meeting.
ADOPTED this 25th day of June, 1984.
