HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-26 - Declaring Parcels of Land to Public UseRESOLUTION NO. 88- 26 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DEDICATING PARCELS OF LAND TO PUBLIC USE FOR STREET AND HIGHWAY PURPOSES AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF HIGHLAND STREET, WALNUT STREET AND CEDAR STREET WITH PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, AND ACCEPTING THE OFFER THEREOF • WHEREAS, the public interest, convenience and safety require the widening of Pacific Coast Highway between Newport Boulevard and Highland Street; and WHEREAS, the widening of the Highway requires construction of curb returns at the intersections with Highland Street, Walnut Street and Cedar Street which will encroach on parcels of land owned in fee by the City; and WHEREAS, the parcels of land required for construction of the curb returns are presently improved and used for alley purposes; and WHEREAS, it is proper for the City to dedicate portions of these parcels of land to be used for street and highway purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that portions of the City property required for the curb returns, be and are hereby dedicated to public use for public street and highway purposes. Said portions of City property are described and shown on attached Exhibit "A ", incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is in the public interest to accept the dedication of the above described property for public street and highway purposes and the same is hereby accepted by the City of Newport Beach for public street and highway purposes.
