HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-63 - Management & Key Employees Compensation Plan• RESOLUTION NO. 88 -63 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES FOR MANAGEMENT AND OTHER KEY EMPLOYEES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1988 -89, AMENDING CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN TO REFLECT SAID CHANGES, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 87 -80. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach has the authority, under the Newport Beach City Charter, to establish salaries for employees; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended certain salary adjustments for management and other key employees; and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of implementing, effective July 2, 1988, certain salary changes for management and other key personnel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes, effective July 2, 1988, the salaries for management and other key personnel employees shall be as shown on Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in addition to the salary adjustments reflected on the schedule attached as Exhibit "A," City shall pay to the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) seven (7 %) percent of the Miscellaneous Members, or nine (9 %) percent of the Safety Members employees' contribution to PERS. This retirement contribution shall be credited to each employee's individual account with PERS; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City's Classification and Compensation Plan shall be amended to reflect these changes; and 01 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that :Resolution No. 87 -80 shall be rescinded at such time as the salaries reflected in this Resolution become effective.
