RESOLUTION NO. 88 -94
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING ANTIBES,
FRANCE AS A SISTER CITY OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach and the City of
Antibes, France, have established a relationship to further
mutual interests; and
WHEREAS, representatives from each City have
initiated endeavors to exchange ideas, sociological and
cultural concepts, and have found a mutual appreciation of art
and custom; and
WHEREAS, an exchange of business interests has been
developed by Rockwell, International to further an understanding
of international business relations; and
WHEREAS, additional development of business interest
between the Newport Beach environs and that of Antibes, France
is desirable; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Newport Beach
to further expand cultural, educational, social and business
understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach extends the hand of friendship to
Antibes, France by asking Antibes to become its Sister City.
ADOPTED this 12th day of September , 1988.
