ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR THE
HARBOR COMMISSION
The election of officers will be an action item on the agenda for the
next Harbor Commission meeting on July 8. Anyone of the seven
Commissioners may be elected or re-elected to any office.
When that item is on the table, the Chairman will ask for
nominations for the office of Chairman. A motion may be made, "I
make the motion that be nominated as chairman". If the
motion is seconded, the nomination is open for debate and public
comments. After the close of public comments, a vote is taken and
tallied. If elected, the new Chairman immediately takes over the
meeting immediately. If the motion fails or if the nominee declines,
a new nomination may be made and the process starts again.
The process is the same for the offices of Vice Chairman and
Secretary.
