GENERAL

1. Nothing herein shall relieve property owners from the burden of
initially installing concrete sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
2. Nothing herein shall relieve the property owner of his obligation
under Section 13.04.090 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code.
3. Nothing herein shall prevent the City from performing any repair
work within the public right -of -way when it is in the best interest
of the City to do so.
COST SHARING OF REPAIRING SIDEWALK, CURBS AND GUTTERS
1. The City will pay 100% of the cost of repairing concrete curbs
and gutters.
2. The City will pay 100% for approaches at alley intersections.
3. The City will pay 50% of the cost of repairing standard concrete
sidewalk adjoining private property.
3a. The City will pay 100% of the cost of repairing standard concrete
sidewalk and drive approaches damaged by trees in the City parkway.
The City will not pay for the cost of repairing concrete sidewalks
and drive approaches damaged by private trees.
4. The City will not pay for the cost of repairing private concrete
driveway approaches including the sidewalk areas.
5. A priority list, based on need, benefit to the public, and date of
application shall be established by the General Services Department.
6. Property owners requesting their projects to be advanced to the top
of the priority list shall be requested to contribute an additional 50 %.
7. A sum of money shall be appropriated every year to be applied to the
City's share of repair work.
8. City participation under this policy shall be subject to the availa-
bility of funds.

1. In areas where the existing sidewalk on Lido Isle is red ", the City
will encourage and cooperate with the Lido Island Community Association
in having the sidewalk replaced with colored concrete, providing it
will not result in any increased costs to the City.
