HomeMy WebLinkAboutC-6275(B) - Grant Agreement for FY 15-16 - Newport Beach Restaurant WeekMEMORANDUM At its August 11, 2015, meeting, the City Council approved awarding special event funding to 20 community events in FY 2015-16. This year, the process changed to include two funding categories—Community and Charitable and Signature events. The 15 Community and Charitable events receive funding in the form of a "credit" toward City related fees. The Signature events are required to enter into a grant agreement with the City. The agreement includes agreed upon performance measurements, which the event organizer has to report on after the event's conclusion. The Newport Beach Restaurant Association Business Improvement District (NBRA BID) received funding for $10,000 toward its 2016 Restaurant Week event under the Signature Event category. Since the NBRA BID is a part of the City and not a separate entity (unlike the other grant recipients), staff does not see a need to enter into an agreement for this event. However, agreed upon event performance measurements will still be required prior to the release of funding. For the last four years, no agreement was required to process the grant funding for the NBRA BID. If you agree that we should follow the same process for the 2016 Newport Beach Restaurant Week event, please sign below and a demand for the $10,000 will be prepared. irli Approved by Dave Kiff Account 0340-8250 (01020202-84 046) f: userstcm0sharecropecial event grants\2015-2016\nb restaurant week\grant letter authodzation.docx Date: October 30, 2015 To: Dave Kiff, City Manager QrraFr 0 I From: Mary Locey, Management Analyst cfFow'a Subject: Grant Funding for Newport Beach Restaurant Week City Manager's Office At its August 11, 2015, meeting, the City Council approved awarding special event funding to 20 community events in FY 2015-16.
