.City Hall,Newport Beach,Jan.22,1918, 7 :30 P.M.
The Board of Trustees of tile City of Newport Beach met in
regular session at the time and place above mentioned.
Trustee H.A.Robinson being absent, it was moved by Trustees J.P.
Greeley, seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnitker and carried that Trustee
Geo.P.Wilsori act as- pro tem.
Trustee Geo.P.Wilson took the chair,and the roll being called,
the following Trustees Were found to be present: Trustees J.J.Sehnit
ker,Geo.P.r /ilson,J.C.McCain and J.F.Greeley. Ab.sent,H.A.Robinson.
Reading of Minutes.
The minutes of Dec.31st and Jan.7th were read and approved as
read. `
AAtLHNDING OF I;IINUTES.
It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.
MCC in a carried that the portion of the.minutes.of Jan.7th which
refl$r; 84e written to Congressmen :Johnson and Phelan be amended
to include ,"William Kettner.
C011-1UNICATIONS were read and referred to the proper order of busines
REPORT OF DREDGING C01.U.,ITTEE.
The Committee on Dredging reported,and by order of the Chairman
was continued till next meeting.
LANCASTER DEEDS PRESENTED
The City Engineer reported on the Coast Road and presented two
deeds from £
C.L.Lancaster or acceptance. By motion of Trustee T.J.
Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.P.Greeley and duly ea-rried,said deed
were accepted
RESOLUTION NO.92.
Resolution No.92 providing for the disposal of the remaining
unsold Jetty fonds at private sale was presented. By motion of Trust
J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.O.McOain said Resolution was passe
by the following vote: Ayes,Trustees J.J.Schnitker,Geo.P.Wilson,J.C.
McCain and J.P.Greeley. Noes,none, Absent,Trustee H.A.Robinson.
GAS ENGINEE BIDS OPENED.
Bids on the 40 H.P.Gas Engine to be installed at the Pumping
Plant were opened and were as follows:
Smith -Booth -Usher Company, (1040.00
,Vest Coast Gas Company, "1980.00
Collins- Tebb,Inc. A�2069.00
By motion of Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.McCain
and carried,these bids were referred to the City Engineer,ater Supe:
intendent and Mater Committee to be roported on at next meeting.
WATER TANK BIDS OPENED.
Bids on the 30,000 gallon Tater Tank
Island were opened and were as follov✓s:

to be erected on Balboa
By motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.C.McC
and carried,these bids were referred to the City Engineer,Water Sup
intendent and Water Committee to be re,�orted on at neat meeting.
RESOLUTION No.88
Resolution No.88 providing for the issuance and sale of Channel
Bonds in the sum of 'x,°50,000. was brou,;ht up for adoption. By motion
of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.P.Greeley,and by Roll
Call vote,as'follows,said Resolution ro.88 was adopted:
Ayes,Trustees J. J. Schnitker ,Ceo.^.VJilson,J.C.ivieCain and d.P.Greeley,
Noes,idoxie. Absent,H.i.Robinson.
REPORT OF CLERK ON REQU.ST ,)F DISTRICT ATTORNEY FOR FUNDS COLLECTED
FOR VIOLATION OF STATE MOTOR VEHICLE LASS TO BE TURNED OVER TO COUNT
The City Clerk reported the request of the District Attorney th
the funds collected by the city as fines for the violation of the St
Motor Vehicle Taws be turned over to the County.

That of Leon Fighuera was laid ion the table,that of the Edison Co.wa
ordered filed,that of the United Stai,f�s , ?arshal was referred to the
City Clerk for reply,that of the Cali-fftnia Traffic Officers Assn.was
tabled.
In connection with the letter of Cap t. Chas. T.Leeds,U.S.Army Eng.,
Capt.J.A.Ricker made a detailed'report regarding the rocks obstructing
the channel. By motion of Trustee J.C.IvIcCain,seconded by Trustee J.J.
Schnitker,and carried,the matter of blowing said rocks was placed'in
the hands of the C1ty Engineer with power to act, '
REG RDING EASEi.!�;VT ON LOT FOR ERECTION OF ;7ATL:R TANK
By motion of Trustee J.C.11t Cain,secondetl by Trustee J.P.Greeley,
and carried,the City Clerk was instructed to write to owner of lot on
Balboa Island for perpetual easement for erection of water tank.
ESTABLISIME1 NT OF GRADES FOR- COAST ROAD
It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.Y1cC
and carried that the City Engineer be instructed to establish grades
for Coast Road within the City Limits as outlined.
